BOYS On September 28, 2018 the ever so lasting feud between the Aguilas Azueles and the Predators rages on as the Finals came to a close. The Grade 10 Aguilas Azueles lost 36-41 to the Grade 9 Predators after they were forced to pushed harder despite having odds against them.
The Grade 9 Predators was down by 8 points in the beginning of the second quarter but still manage to take the dub after their Small Forward John Benedict Castillote managed to drop 21 points and 9 rebounds to secure the win while Aguilas Azueles Point Guard Emmanuel Ednilan dropped 17 points.
Predators Shooting Guard Jude Gatchalian said, “We first communicated with each other in the team then started to move the ball. But the most important thing we needed in the game was screens for an easy bucket.”
Azueles Point Guard Emmanuel Ednilan said their main problem was their underestimation of their enemy, “The leading cause of our defeat was the lack of team communication, lousy defense and wrong plays. But most of all was that we underestimated them but I have to say we fought a great battle and it was a wonderful experience even though it was a humiliating defeat for us. But a defeat is defeat and everything happens for a reason” said Ednilan.
From the beginning till the end of the basketball championship, the Predators took down the Aguilas Azueles taking every chances at winning.
GIRLS On September 28 of 2018 the women’s annual basketball championship began with a bang and ended with a boom, the game between felines was intense as they fought for the title of “Womens Basketball Champion”. The fierce Aguilas Azueles women rightfully took their place as champions in the ladies division for basketball.
