Family Day 2018

Updated: May 8, 2019

Last December 2,2018, St. Francis of Assisi School celebrated the annual Family Day, by which the said event was held at the USPF gymnasium.

As a family we should spend time together—which is the sole reason of celebrating this event. Before we had the program proper, we first celebrated mass. We must be thankful that each and everyday we have parents who watch over us and that we have them through our journey. After the mass, the dance club members prepared a short performance as an energizer before the main event starts. Next up was the dance presentation of the NKP, spearheaded by their advisers, Mme. Janet Tecson & Mme. Evelyn Mortalla. After watching the adorable NKP students, we had a raffle draw and played some family games. Well, it was fun!

After lunch break, we witnessed the dance presentations of the elementary department and the dance interpretations of the high school students. All of them did their best and we saw splendid performances. The winner from the grade school was the Grade 1 under the advisory of Ms. Michelle Daño. The champion in the higher grades was the Grade 6 under Mme. Rufa Temblor. And lastly the winner for the dance interpretation of the high school department was the Grade 10 under the advisory of Mme. Elena Melecio, followed by the the Grade 8 (Ms. Denise Kamille Montesclaros), third place was given to the Grade 9 (Ms. Melissa Agacita), then the Grade 7 (Mme. Jonalyn Kinkito), and lastly the Senior High (Ms. Yanni Katrina Alicaba & Mr. Jose Manuel Aguas). The students did their best to showcase their talent to their parents, and of course the parents were also very proud of their children.

And last but definitely not the least, we have the highlight of the event—BINGO! Parents, faculty and staff, as well as the students really waited for this part of the celebration because of the huge cash prize. There were different bingo combinations that needed to be accomplished in order to receive a certain cash prize. Some of these combinations were: corners, cross, and blackout. The blackout was the most exciting since the prize was a substantial amount of money. The winner of the blackout in the bingo game was a parent winning Php 10,000. This event really gave us the time to have a bond to our parents! Let’s not forget to treasure each memories we all spent with our family.
